Radiation reaching Earth from space contains infrared, visible light and ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Infrared radiation is responsible for maintaining the right temperature on Earth. We owe the life-giving energy of visible rays to the stimulation of reproductive and development processes, as well as photosynthesis. Low doses of ultraviolet radiation have a positive effect on living organisms, but high doses are harmful to human health.
